This intensive course provides a solid introduction to the Java programming language and teh Eclipse development environment. In this fast-paced, hands-on course, programmers acquire the skills they need to write standalone applications in Java 1.5.

The course is designed to teach the syntax of the Java programming language; object-oriented programming with the Java programming language; creating graphical user interfaces (GUI); exceptions; file input/output (I/O); threads and networking; database access with JDBC. We pay particular attention to testing and test development using the JUnit testing frame
